Life as we know it

We keep hearing everyone complain about weather and we are keeping our mouths shut. The weather here is grand and big plus for living in CA.

The other day it was so nice we took a walk and someone fell asleep. When we got home we just rolled him it that was nice.

Helping

So for Christmas we went and helped feed the homeless at the church without walls. It was great they had clothes and toys donated and man was it a hit. Anytime you go and feed the homeless or any shelter I highly recommend that you also have a clothing drive and let them go shopping. It was nice that we helped pair up some great clothes with the people that needed them.

The kids that came and helped had the job of lining up all the toys they did a great job. Man did these fly fast.

I've had some interesting experiences helping with these projects before but this time it was good. There were lots of helpers all with jobs and we were able to help make sure everyone got what they needed.

We feel so so blessed

Lets hope I can convey my heart to you that you can feel and understand how inaudibly grateful we are. Moving to CA has been wonderful we truly know that God put a "star of Bethlehem  over this city to lead us here. We are so grateful that Lucas was able to find a wonderful company to work for, finding them and waiting for them wasn't easy but was worth it.

With moving expenses, living in a high taxed states and previous debt we decided to stay in our new home for the holidays and have a frugal Christmas so we could continue to faithfully keep to our financial goals . We are so excited to soon be out of some much debt. But we were sad to stay here and be away from our loved ones. Instead of being sad we decided to learn and understand more of our Savior and His birth.

This Christmas Season our heart were turned to Jesus Christ and his young parents. We loved learning how Mary and Joseph were a young couple starting out on there own similar to many young couples.  We learned how in the nativity story it doesn't speak of Mary or Josephs family going with them to Bethlehem. Which if I was having my first child I would carry my mom on my back if I had to so that she could help me. But Mary and Joseph understood that they needed to keep Jesus's age a secret so no one would question Mary's virginity. It helped us respect this young couple so much and our hearts were softened thinking of what was really happening in there lives.

While we enjoyed pondering Jesus'S birth we were touched by our friends and family calling us more, Skyping, letter, email, thoughtful gifts and prayers. It was nice to open presents on Christmas we saw how thoughtful others were and we appreciated every new truck Mason received  It was a wonderful wonderful day. I was wonderful to not take anything for granted it was refreshing.

We know that our Savior lives and that he is the light in the darkness. We know that prayers are answered and with faith and obedience wonderful blessings come. Like our new baby boy whoot whoot!

Ducks

What is it with 2 year olds and ducks?
They LOVE them.
In Logan we would go see the ducks a the local zoo.
We found an epic place full, I mean full of birds.
Mason loved running around them and would often get caught in the middle of the birds with no way out and get nervous.

So fun we need to go again soon.

Hiking as a family

This was such a great day to go hiking, it was cloudy with a little wind and the ground was dry.
There isn't to many  trails close by but we would this great older park with great hill to climb.
Some of the hills I had to drag my pregnant butt up but we made it.

I always enjoy hikes that have a reward at the end meaning a view, waterfall or a tree. This hike had great views, we were able to enjoy Bakersfield from a different view.

So I carried the little man inside and Lucas carried Mason. Mason walked as much of the trail as he could but it got dangerous and it was great he recognized the danger and asked to be but in the hiking backpack. So Dad carried the 35lb child up the hills.

Dad needed to tie his shoe. Mason was laughing, yelling and hugging Dad it was funny.

Love this photo!

Love you all Merry Christmas
